Help Finding Work
Fortis Living is a proud member of the Fusion Group; a collaboration of local Housing Associations and Community Service Providers that has secured ESF and Big Lottery Funding to deliver Employment Support in Worcestershire.
Fortis Living now has two Fusion Job Coaches who are available to work with individuals on a one-to-one basis across Worcestershire through the Building Better Opportunities Programmes.
With support from a dedicated Job Coach each participant has a personal package of support based on their own individual circumstances and needs. By recognising and building on strengths and abilities participants will gain confidence to enter the world of employment.
Participants receive help with all aspects of job search; CV Writing, finding vacancies, completing applications, interview techniques, confidence building and much, much more. As well as this we understand that finding work is also about feeling confident with other aspects of your life. Our Job Coaches work within the Fortis Debt Prevention Team which also supports people with benefit, money and energy advice. This means we can offer a total support package so that when you find the job you want you are in a position to accept it and move forward with confidence.
Our Job Coaches are already achieving great results with participants who have found work, completed training courses and made great strides towards rewarding, permanent employment.
To date (Nov 2017) our Fusion Job Coaches have helped 23 people find work and have supported 13 into training.
Whether you're looking to gain practical skills for work experience or you've got some time on your hands, volunteering is a great way to do something for your local community. Here at Fortis Living, we have volunteering opportunities across our business. From sharing your online skills in our digital cafes or getting your hands dirty in one of our community gardens to helping out with social activities or working in the cafe at one our retirement villages, we've got lots on offer.
Volunteering can help you to build confidence if you're just out of education or have been out of work for sometime. It's an excellent way to make yourself stand out from the crowd and learn skills which can help you to find paid employment. And if you’re just looking to put something back into your community or need something to keep you active then volunteering is also an enjoyable way to get involved and meet new people.
