Tolladine renewal project given the go ahead

We have been granted full and unanimous planning permission to develop Rose Avenue in the city’s Tolladine area.

The overall aim of the project – which will begin early next year – is to redevelop the existing shops and surrounding area; specifically the development will include the following:

  • Three/four new shops with modern facilities;
  • Twenty five new homes including one bedroom flats above the shops to rent, two and three bedroom shared ownership houses, one bedroom apartments to rent at the entrance of Rose Avenue with winter garden balconies; bungalows to rent as well as two bedroom houses to rent;
  • The shopping parade will have new lighting, paving and security measures; new planting will be introduced along Rose Avenue as well as communal green spaces will be developed at the entrance to Rose Avenue.

Marc Howard, our Development Manager said : “This is an exciting development for the Tolladine area of the city, providing comfortable, warm and safe homes in a mix of housing styles.  The project will build on the unmistakeable sense of community that already exists in Tolladine and will help create a safer, more attractive environment, better suited to the needs of the local community.”

The project will be completed in early 2021.

The project team is made up of Fortis Living, DJD Architects and Fellows Construction Consultants.

The project will be funded by Fortis Living and a Homes England grant.
