Universal Credit Roll Out Timetable

If you are claiming any of these benefits: Jobseekers Allowance (Income Based), Employment and Support Allowance(Income Related, Income Support, Housing Benefit, Child Tax Credit and Working Tax Credit then the Universal Credit roll out will affect you.

Until now, only certain single people, looking for work and in good health have been able to claim this benefit. This is about to change, and all working age people will be  directed to claim Universal Credit. Claimants on older benefits will also be directed to claim Universal Credit following certain changes of circumstances. This is called “Full Service Roll-Out”.

The roll-out timetable for our area is: -

  • Redditch - 23rd October 2017
  • Stroud  -  October 2017
  • Cheltenham - December 2017
  • Tewkesbury - December 2017
  • Gloucester City - February 2018
  • Herefordshire - March 2018
  • Bromsgrove - May 2018
  • Malvern Hills - May 2018
  • South Gloucestershire - May 2018
  • Worcester City - June 2018
  • Wychavon - July 2018 
  • Wyre Forest - July 2018

Existing Universal Credit claimants will be prompted to re-claim under this new system and they must do this within three months. More information, roll-out timetable and access to claim Universal Credit online can be found at https://www.gov.uk/universal-credit
